On Aug. 5, the Chemical Safety Information, Site Security and Fuels
Regulatory Relief Act was signed into law. EPA has released 29 Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs) relating to the Chemical Safety Information, Site
Security and Fuels Regulatory Relief Act (PL 106-40).
EPA has posted some Frequently Asked Questions and Answers on the Chemical
Emergency Preparedness website that should address some of your concerns.
EPA will be adding new questions and answers, so keep checking the website
for more information. You can download the document at
EPA continues to work with the FBI to clarify Section 4 of the law, which
concerns public meetings and an address where you can send certification that
the meetings have taken place. EPA and FBI are working on a fact sheet that
will be distributed soon to address these issues.The fact sheet also will
include address information for those who must tell EPA they have shared OCA
data in an unrestricted manner.
