Patel:

Thanks for the reminder on the web width cutoff applicability criteria. With
respect to your question on recordkeeping, the type and amount of records will
be dictated by the compliance option that the printer will be using for
compliance demonstration. Many of the specific records are identified in the
rule, but there are two other issues that you should know. First, it appears
that EPA is going to propose several rule modifications that will change some
of the definitions and clarify other provisions. I suggest you contact Dave
Salman at 919/541-0859 for more information. Dave is the EPA project officer
who is responsible for the Printing and Publishing MACT rule. Also, the
printing industry is working with EPA on a project entitled Pollution
Prevention Through Permitting (P4) and part of the project is designed to
develop model permits for representative printing operations. A portion of the
project will involve the development of terms and conditions addressing
compliance issues involved with the Printing and Publishing NESHAP. Once this
project is completed, then more specific permit language applicable to many
printing operations subject to MACT will be averrable.

If you have more specific questions, you can always call me at 412/741-6860.
