Generators are granted regulatory relief (exemption) from marking, accumulation time limits, training, and weekly inspection requirements for Hazardous waste containing precious group metals. Generators do not have to be the actual recycler of such haz waste.

In other words, facility (generator or receiver ) can accumulate silver containing Haz waste on site for up to one year. To store more than one year, extension has to requested and granted by the State Regulatory agency (if state is delegated to enforce RCRA laws. Most states are).

The only regulatory obligation on the part of the generator printer is to get an EPA ID number as a generator and manifest the material as hazardous waste when shipped to the offsite reclamation facility (containers have to be marked and labeled at this time anyway so might as well label while they are in storage).
