Subject: Re: Digital Imaging to Reduce Silver Waste

Digital pre-press technology has long been incoporated in screen printing
operations. Digital output devices such as electrostatic and ink jet
operations are also in use, however, it depends on the product. We have found
that digitial pre-press applications do reduce waste, in fact the Iowa Waste
Reduction Center, conducted a study a few years back on the use of computer to
screen or computer to plate techonology. CTP technology is very high end and
expensive. Please also remember that to use the term digital technology is
like using the term printing. There are many forms as well as applications,
some of which are not applicable to all situations.

It is an intersting and growing field -- the use of digital technology.
