The question regarding unused inventory is a common one. Generally facilities
only have one year to keep unused inventory. At that point, the material is
considered a "waste" and the company is required to evaluate the material
with respect to hazardous vs. non-hazardous classification.
There is an opportunity to avoid this process if the company can make a case
that the material has a legitimate use. This process is designed to prevent
companies from storing materials indefintely to avoid the hazardous waste
