Bari Sue,

There is no specific issue being raised, except promoting pollution
prevention programs.

As far as ink waste disposal, I have not heard of any printers
(including when I worked at printing co.) having problems specifically
with disposal of black inks. Typically waste ink is commingled and
disposed of off site, unless it is reblended in some manner. There is
the factor of heavy metals in some inks, which may make the waste
characteristically hazardous, as I mentioned before.

I have also read reports that vegetable based inks emit lower VOC's than
petroleum based. But, I thought the remaining environmental problem was
in the pigment, especially in black ink. Is waste ink disposal in question
for Boulder or just emissions?
