I am not aware of any "automatic" ink mixers designed to blend used inks into
new colors. I have talked to a couple of printers that use the MixMaster
computer software to develop the recipes for making new PMS colors out of
old, uncontaminated, unused ink. The larger companies do use an industrial
strength blender to remix their inks but it is not fully automatic. The
smaller company I spoke with tried using a blender but found that it was
easier, cleaner and less time consuming just to mix it by hand on an ink
table surface. Everyone I spoke with spoke highly of the MixMaster system.
