The Design for the Environment (DfE) Lithograhy Project examined 22
different substitute blanket washes in printing facilities along the east
coast. Through this work we compiled a list of the adjustments printers
made to optimize the effectiveness of the washes.
This information is captured in a Bulletin called "Substitute Blanket
Washes: Making Them Work" (EPA 744-F-96-002). We also have a
bulletin describing Workplce Practices that litho printers use to improve
certain asects of their process entitlted, simopy enough, "Workplace
Practices Make the Difference" ( EPA 744-F-96-008).
Both of these and all the other DfE Lithography Project outputs are
available FREE from
