A number of companies recover silver from film and paper. As I understand it,
this can be accomplished in several ways: the emultion can be chemically or
physically removed, and the remaining silver then recovered from the
emulsion, or the base can be incinerated and the silver recovered from the
ash. Remember that color films do not contain silver - it is all removed in
the process of developing.
Many companies can do this recovery. I will assemble a partial list and put
it on PrintTech later.

The Silver Council can provide information on silver recovery from
photoprocessing solutions, and The Code of Management Practice for Silver
Dischargers.
