Thanks Marci.... my interest in determining at least generically what
solvents would be typical from printing and/or screen operations on
wipers is in the interest of advising someone about the impact of DOT
hazardous material transportation regulations.
It appears from your input, and others, that even non-soaked wipers with
flammable solvent contamination would indeed be DOT regulated as
"Solids, containing flammable liquids, n.o.s.".
I have yet to find any towel rental laundry that makes this
classification, yet am compelled to suggest to a client that they follow
DOT HMR regulations. The printing wipers they currently clean are most
assuredly "flammable solids", exhibiting flash points below 100 F.
