I take exception to the statement that printers commonly pour unwanted solvent
into rag containers to dispose of it quickly. That is not a common practice
nor do I believe it should be touted as one.

Many small screen printers are environmentally conscious and want to do the
right thing. Also, the Design for the Environment's Cleaner Technologies
Substitute Assessment for screen reclamation products used by the screen
printing industry concluded that a wastewater discharge problem did not exist.
In other words, screen printers were not pouring solvent down the drain as an
alternative means of disposing of hazardous waste.
