According to our testing lab experts, you can use a Zahn cup, Ford cup, or
Brookfield Instrument. The Zahn cup is the most popular and the opening size
in the bottom of the cup depends upon the amount of time that is necessary to
get an accurate reading. The opening should be such that the flow is between
15-30 seconds. Viscosity cups are not as accurate and precise as an
instrument such as the Brookfield, but it is important that you are using the
same measurement technique as your ink company so that everyone is
communicating with data generated from the same device.
