Iím a new supervisor in a printing department in a big chemical company in the state of New York. I have 2 flexo presses and I have a problem with waste water after the clean up process. I used to work in other states and I never met this problem before. The problem is we have 2 streams of waste water: #1 Regular from bathrooms, kitches, etc #2 from all production departments (most of all alcohol products). Both systems are very carefully checked by the local department of water. According to the information I have, I canít put any of the waste water, which I use to wash the stations, anilox rollers, etc. from water based inks to any of the systems. How is it possible that for example, in the state of New Jersey, all printing companies wash the presses using regular drain systems and nobody has a problem with that, and here we canít do it. Is the environmental law so different in each state. I know that even big companies donít have special systems for that, so why is it a big problem for me? Maybe you can help.
