I would recommend getting away from perc - it's an excellent degreaser, but I don't know how effective it is with ink - stay with petroleum or how about trying a citrus-based solvent? Many of them are pretty good stain removal agents - Perc introduces them into a potential contamination problem down the road - many drycleaners have contaminated properties . . . I realize the quantity at a typewriter shop would not be be that high, but it does not take much perc to cause a soil contamination problem......
