I am not aware of any case studies or responses to public or regulatory complaints concerning toluene emissions from printing operations. In fact, most of the toluene emissions from printing operations are released from gravure printing operations.
An article addressing toluene emissions appeared in the Winter 2000 issue of Gravure magazine. You can access it on-line at http://www.gaa.org/GAA_Magazine/Articles/Obrien.htm. Additional information about toluene releases can be found in the EPA's TRI database. In addition, the gravure MACT standard recently set new control requirements to reduce the emissions of HAPs (including toluene) from gravure printing.
