Can anyone enlighten me as to percentages of solids in Offset Litho inks and how they relate to particulates? I've been told that there is a percentage of solids per gallon in paints which figure in on particulate emission calculations and that the same is true for inks. I've checked the MSD sheets for our inks and there is no mention of solids. I've never heard this before and would like to hear from others in the printing industry. If this is true, is there an industry average for % of solids per gallon or is it dependent on each type/color of ink?
