Concerning alternative washes, we encountered a newspaper printer near town who was using a water miscible high flash point solvent blend successfully. The main complaint was, of course, the slow drying time, but also that the product didn't clean the machinery parts real well. They used the safety solvent on their rollers and blankets, but used an aromatic blend on the machinery a few times a year as maintenance. We have found that the vegetable type washes tend to do the best job to reconcile compliance issues and cleaning strength. Brian Grochowski bgrocho@gridusa.net
