Question: I am about to write a case study about a printer who is in the process of converting to computer to plate. I am curious if anyone has any information about a similar case study or knowledge that specifically focuses on the environmental advantages of CTP. I am aware that the film step is bypassed, however, my understanding is that the plastic plate still requires chemical processing. Also for making a color plate, in the current process the printer must make four separate plates. Using CTP, a comprable color plate would only require one plate so that activity will certainly reduce chemical use. Basically if someone can give me more information on specific issues or operations to focus on in terms of chemical consumption, I would be very grateful.
