  Subject: No Process Plates

I am working with a printer who is considering using No Process Plates
for his off set printing. The environmental benefits to him are quite
clear in that he has reduced chemical handling and disposal, reduced
VOC's, reduced water and energy consumption. What he is interested
in,
is what are the environmental implications of the manufacturing of the
plates. Are there particular environmental issues he should be
concerned with? Are there certain questions he should be asking his
supplier about the manufacturing of these plates. He is concerned
that
he is just transfering the environmental responsibility on to someone
  else.

Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

  Thanks,
