Computer-To-Plate prepress systems can eliminate the use of film, photographic chemicals and proofing materials.

A litho printer and its magazine client discuss the lessons learned and pitfalls to avoid in the transition to a completely CTP-produced issue. Lessons learned include: a digital workflow prior to the CTP system reduces more waste; and complete CTP is more desirable than a mixed CTP/film system.
