Article Summary: Sticky Business: Whether e-z release or permanent, each type of glue has its pros and cons
3.6.98

Binding failures can be significant sources of waste. This article emphasizes that successful gluing requires a scientific approach combined with an artistic touch. Paper, ink, coating, and glues are equal contributors to a job's final success. E-z release and permanent glues are reviewed for performance characteristics on different types of papers and coatings under different conditions, including temperature and moisture. Tips are offered on appropriate glue selections, among e-z release and permanent glues, with water-base or oil-base systems, or hotmelt glues.
